Squirrel Season!

Tomorrow is the first day of the season. I normally do not hunt squirrel but Gene asked me to go along with him and I agreed to.

I have everything packed and ready to go out in the woods for two days. I am actually looking forward to finding me a nice spot and take a  mid-day nap.We have not forgotten the videos for the base camps. What has happened has been a series of unfortunate events to the hunting truck. It will be fixed by mid September. Since the delay we have decided to expand on the base camp video including the scripts for the communications that go along with a proper base camp. Being a General class amature operator I will include the proper antenna setup.

We have white boarded all of the main topics to cover and this will be the first in a series covering extended hunts. If luck fares with us we will have access to an isolated cabin in the deep southwest of the state for deer season. A week in this setting will test gear and preparedness.

To follow up on the Browning BAR and X-bolt. They are nice rifles but I still prefer my Winchester M70 in .375. It truly is the only rifle I can rely on to complete a hunt no matter where I go. I am still saddened by the shuttering of the Winchester Arms company. We lost a big piece of history when that happened. To my readers, take care of your Winchesters for they will never again be made.Browing bought the rights to two models, one was the 1895. I cannot recall the other.

Monday if all goes well I will have the results of the hunt along with recipes!
